How to Choose Quality Child Care
The Nebraska
Department of Health and Human Services offers a checklist of
the questions you should ask when evaluating a childcare
provider. |
Licensed Child Care & Pre-Schools in Nebraska
This is a list -
more than 400 pages long - of licensed child care and pre-school
programs in the State of Nebraska. It is maintained by the
Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. The list
is sorted by zip code, enabling you to find nearby providers.
Each entry shows contact information, hours of operation,
capacity, ages of children served, when the provider was
licensed and other details. |
Checking
Up on Your Child Care Provider
Nebraska law
requires any individual who provides child care to four or more
children from different families at any one time to become
licensed. This section of the Nebraska Health and Human
Services website enables you to verify that your provider is
licensed and also shows any official disciplinary actions taken
against the provider. To find this information, look at the
drop-down menu next to "Professions." Select "Early
Childhood." Enter the name of your provider or the name of
the entity providing care and press "Search Licenses" at the
bottom of the page. (You may also search by "Owner Name,"
but this often returns no results.) |
