With one thing and then another - not to mention the cold weather - I missed the big Easter egg hunt at Elmwood on Saturday. Did it go well? Is this the first year they've done it?

They have done it for a while. It usually is really fun. They divide the "hunt" up into age groups to make it fair.

I missed it this year as well. I thought it wasn't until the 22nd:(

My son and I attended the Easter Egg Hunt at Elmwood Park last Saturday although it might have been more accurate to call it an "Easter Egg Grab." They had three large rings painted on the grass - one for each age group. The kids had to stand outside the ring until the signal was given. Once that happened, they were supposed to run into the ring and grab as many eggs as they could. I had to coach my son a little because he is so reserved and laid back that I was worried he'd end up with no eggs. The whole thing was over in less than a minute. My son did fine; he got about 11 or 12 plastic eggs, so he was happy. They had extra eggs for kids who didn't get any during the big grab, which I thought was nice. Also, my son's friend found an egg with a little piece of paper inside of it that entitled him to win a Hot Wheels Big Wheel, so that was great! My son and I had a good time, and we would definitely go again another year.

My son had a lot of fun. He didn't quite understand the concept of picking up as many eggs as he could. He was selective with his choices. So as a result he only ended up with 4 eggs. He probably past up 20+ eggs! He still had fun. We would certainly go again next year.
