Last summer my son attended Little Farmer's Camp at Gifford Farm Education Center in Bellevue, and he loved it. It lasted a week, and each day
Aidan learned about and helped take care of a different farm animal. I just received the brochure for the Summer 2008 camps in the mail. I then tried to locate the same information online so that I could share it with everybody, but unfortunately, the Gifford Farm website is not very good. This is why, if you are interested, I would strongly encourage you to call Gifford Farm at 597-4920 and ask them to mail you a copy of the brochure. They offer a variety of camps for kids from 4 to 12 years old. This summer, the camps will include Exotic Pet Lover's Camp, Discovery Camp, Little Farmers Camp, Adventure Camp, and Farm Camp. Because Aidan loves all things icky and sticky, slimy and disgusting, I'm going to enroll him in Exotic Pet Lovers Camp, which is for ages 6 to 12. According to the description, he will be meeting the mammals, reaching for the reptiles, admiring the amphibians, appreciating the arachnids, and making a camper presentation. Sounds fun as long as he doesn't bring any of his new friends home . . . .
