I've finally fully exhaled for the first time in eight months. We sold our old house. Yes, as of last Friday, it was a done deal -- signed, sealed, and delivered, baby! What a roller coaster ride! No, I take that back. Given the recent real estate market, it was at least ten times worse than the scariest roller coaster ride I've ever experienced, and a lot longer, too. But now, our days of double mortgage payments, double utility payments, double homeowners insurance payments, and a bridge loan payment are over, and we are at last free to fully enjoy our beautiful new home.
Also, after almost eight months of chemo, my dad was recently declared cancer-free! And, my mom is making a quick recovery from knee-replacement surgery!
God has been watching over the Dunaway family, and it looks like 2008 is going to be a whole heck of a lot better than 2007! I hope that 2008 will be a great year for you and your families, also!

Congratulations Rhonda,
I am very happy to hear that things are looking well for you and your family.
To say that the housing market is sluggish is putting things nicely, as a friend keeps telling me. But I am more pleased to hear that the health and well-being of your parents are good. I know that when one’s family is sick and recovering, from what ever the ailment, it easy takes it toll on the rest of the family. And cancer certainly cannot be an easy thing to go through.

That is great news! We had double mortgages for a couple of months this summer because we had our new house in Omaha AND our old house in Missouri, so I know how it is.

Thanks for your kind words, everyone! I think I might have gone over the edge for awhile in late October, but with the help of friends and family, I reached out and clawed my way out of the abyss before I fell too far. Actually, it was a blessing to have this website to work on, also. It's very absorbing, and it always helped me escape my troubles for awhile.
