Just wondering if anyone could give me some ideas for where to find a good dance or tumbling class for my 3 year old daughter? I just want something fun for her to do and see if she likes either. I'm not wanting a rigid program just fun. Thanks for any advice or experience you have with this!

Hi 3timesblessed,

I don't have any specific recommendations for you, but I did want to let you know that MomsofOmaha.com has a great listing of both dance studios and gymnastics (tumbling) for kids. It might be a good place to start.

Dance:

Gymnastics:

http://www.momsofomaha.com/justforkids/sports/gymnastics.htm

Hope this helps! If you find a place give them a call and ask if you can sit in on a class to see if it's right for your daughter, and if she'd enjoy it.

I was going to suggest the same thing as velveetah. Momsofomaha has alisting for Premier Gymnastics that looks like it could be worth a try. www.premier-gymnastics.com (http://www.premier-gymnastics.com) I bet they would let you and your daughter take a look around. I know what you mean about keeping it low-key though. I'm guessing some of these dance places can get awfully competitive.

Hi, 3timesBlessed.

Several friends of mine have enrolled their preschool-age children in gymnastics/tumbling classes offered by the German-American Society. From what they've told me, the classes are not overly structured. The focus is on fun and exercise. I don't know what the exact cost is, but I do remember thinking it was really inexpensive. You might want to give them a call to check it out. Good luck. Veronica

We have been going to Premier Gymnastics for years. My daughter has gone there since she was 3 (now 7) --my son since he was 18-months (now 4). They have an awesome program for younger kids--and older too. For kids age 18-months to age 3, moms go with them to help them on the equipment. Kids age 3-5 go on their own. Both groups are in their own room with equipment for their size. The main teacher, Miss Cyd, is incredible. Premier also has a combo class where preschoolers can do a bit of dance AND a bit of tumbling--perfect to see which they like best.

Thanks Ladies for all of your help! I will be checking these out. I didn't even think to maybe see if they would let us tour or come watch....I was just going to sign up. My daughter turned 3 a couple of months ago and she loves to dance so hopefully we will have luck! Thanks Again!:)

I highly recommend Omaha Metro Stars Gymnastics on P Street in Omaha. Their classes are the first ones that my 4-year old daughter actually wants to stick with. The owners, Liz and Erik, are wonderful.
