Today, while reading the Omaha World-Herald, I came across an article in the "Living" section about ways for moms to meet other moms for friendship, support, and establishing playgroups. The article mentioned www.Matchingmoms.org (http://www.Matchingmoms.org), a website that helps moms meet other moms who share similar interests and who want to set up playdates or playgroups with their kids. I've reviewed their website and am considering listing them as a resource in our "Moms Meeting Other Moms" section, but I would be interested to know if anyone has used this website to meet other moms. If you have, please let me know what you think of it. I would appreciate any feedback you can offer. Thanks.

I haven't used it, but I tell you what, I need to meet some Moms who also work - my work is such a huge part of my life, and I need to meet other Moms who don't consider that strange :) I have a great group of online MOMs that I brainstorm with on a daily basis, - from many different countries - we talk about family AND business, work, marketing, stresses and successes, and this is normal for me. But I'm trying to find business Moms here in Omaha that I can meet with weekly or biweekly, just to share ideas and support each other, but haven't had much luck yet - so, I think I'll check this out!! Thanks Rhonda!! You are a wonderful leader :)

Okay, I just checked it out - it looks great for Moms who have young kids and want to set up playgroups!
My son is a little past that age anymore, since he is in school now, so that won't work for me, but if you have young ones, check it out!

Hi, Cher.
I know what you mean about Matchingmoms.org. Now that my son's in school all day, things like that don't really work for us, but it might be a good resource for moms with preschool-age kids.
Have you looked at the website www.meetup.com (http://www.meetup.com)? You might be able to use it to find an Omaha group that meets your needs. Or, if there isn't one, they'd tell you how to start one if that is something you'd like to take on.
Also, you might want to try contacting the Small Business Administration here in Omaha. I believe that they have a group of female small business owners who meet regularly to discuss the types of topics that might be of interest to you.
Also, I read an article in the Omaha World-Herald a couple of years ago, about a mom with a small business who started a support group for women in the same situation. Let me do some searching, and I'll see if I can find it for you. It will be good for me to do the searching because I could benefit from something like this myself.
You might also want to try contact the Career Services Departments at local colleges and universities to see if they could refer you to any such groups.
Good luck!
