Hi all - my New Years Resolution is to get more balance in my life - for work to be over by the time my son gets home from school, have more quality family time, eat healthier, and to get more regular exercise. I belly danced this morning - what a hoot!!! Anyone else? :)

Mine is to try two (or more!) new recipes a month. We tend to eat the same dinners--usually things my kids will eat. I am going to pull out ALL those cookbooks I have and have fun.

I tried to make my resolutions as specific as possible this year in hopes that this would help me stick to them better. Here they are:
1. Give up diet pop entirely.
2. Cut daily caloric intake by 500 calories per day.
3. Reduce sodium and saturated fat by making over my recipes.
4. Exercise 4-5 times per week for a minimum of 30 minutes.
5. Make getting to my Wednesday morning yoga class a priority.
6. Try one new recipe each week. (Like MomAC mentioned, I've also fallen into a dinnertime rut. I kind of like MomAC's resolution to try two new recipes per month -- I think it would be more realistic for me.)
7. Wear more attractive sleepwear. I did finally take it to heart when my husband looked at me in his Superman boxers (a gift from our son) and his old tee-shirt and, with more than a hint of pleading in his voice, said, "Please stop wearing that."
I have a lot more things I'd like to add, but I think I'll stop here. I don't want to set the bar so high that I become discouraged early on and give up.
Does anyone remember their last year's resolutions? Did you keep them?

I think I'm going to shut off the TV more often and just enjoy the quiet. There's so much noise around with all the media it just puts people on edge. I'll make an exception for Cher's excellent lullabye cd, though.

Drobyn, you are hired!!! :) Thanks for the super comment on the lullaby CD - can I add your quote to our quotes page? :) If so, PM me with your first and last name - if you want to be somewhat anonymous, just first name and first initial of last name - thanks again - you made my day :)
