To all of our members:

I was at my hair stylist today, across the street from Westroads at the Clocktower Village, when the shootings occurred. When people started running into the salon and shouting that someone was shooting people at Westroads, I was so stunned I couldn't even absorb the information. When the salon turned on the televsion so that we could get more information, all I could do was think about the people who were in Von Maur when the shootings began and imagine the fear and horror they must have experienced. I remembered all the times I've shopped in the store and taken Aidan with me and that made me wonder how many parents with young children were in the store when this happened.

I hope you and your families and friends are all safe at home. Our hearts and prayers are with the victims and their families. The pain the families are suffering right now is beyond imagination, and I have been praying to God all day that he will help them through this ordeal. I have tried to find peace in knowing that my family and friends are safe, but I'm still afraid and anxious. I know that we're not ever going to forget this day.

God bless you all and keep you safe.

I learned of the events today when my grandmother in Kansas called to tell me to turn on the news and that there had been a shooting at one of our malls. She was watching national news! How horrible and scary for all involved. My heart goes out to the families who grieve the loss of a loved one tonight and the people in the store who witnessed and were a part of such a horrible ordeal. I hugged my children a little tighter tonight and pray for comfort for those in need. God is with Omaha tonight as we try to figure out the "why" in this situation. May God Bless all of you and keep you safe.

It's terrible. It hits everyone in a city this size because we've all been to Westroads, know where von Maur is, and maybe even recognize some of the people who were killed. Sometimes when I hear of something bad that's happened I think, "Well, i would not have been there, anyway. Or, "I would not have been out at 2 in the morning, so this couldn't happen to me." With this, i can't think like that. I could have been there.
