Every once in awhile, for reasons I don't understand, I crave read meat and prime rib in particular. I realized the other day that I haven't had truly great prime rib in quite awhile. I went to Firebird's recently and had some that was just so-so. Can anyone recommend a restaurant that has great prime rib? Thanks!

I haven't been there myself, but Jerico's at 117th and Dodge claims to have "The Best Prime Rib in Omaha." http://www.jericosomaha.com/ I know that they have been in business for a while, so they must be doing something right.

If you can afford it, Mahogany--Boys Town exit and Dodge. Very expensive but possibly the best in Omaha.

If you don't mind a drive, The Pink Poodle in Crescent, IA--northeast of Omaha. This place is old-fashioned and much cheaper--but fabulous prime rib.

Also high up there: Brother Sebastian's, Anthony's, and Warren Buffet's favorite spot - Gorat's.

Good luck and happy eating!

Thanks, MomAC.

You've given me quite a selection, but I think I'm up to working my way through it! It may take me awhile, but I'll be making the rounds.

Thanks, also Bethany. I remembering hearing good things about Jerico's, so I'll have to give that a try, too.

MMMmmm...my stomach is growling on this one...I love Brother Sebastians! There is also a place on72 - starts with a D - oh heck, I can't remember the name - it's around Mercy Road - it feels like it is out of the 70's, but MAN!! They have the best steaks I have ever had. Not cheap, either, but worth every bite.

Hi Cher,

I think you might be thinking of The Drover. I haven't been there in ages, but yes, they do have great steaks. And I also agree with you about Brother Sebastians. My Aunt and Uncle just called me a few days ago to rave about what a great Valentine's Day dinner they had there (used a gift certificate I had given them for xmas). Very cozy, romantic ambience for a nice dinner for two, and their prime rib and steaks are top-notch. Now I'm getting hungry!:)
