Spring Semester of Parenting U

Begins March 2

Omaha, Neb. – Children’s Hospital & Medical Center is kicking off its spring semester of Parenting U. The series of free, weekly educational seminars connects parents with experts on hot topics in pediatric health care.

The 2010 session opens on Tuesday, March 2 with “Facts and Myths Surrounding Vaccines,” focused on sharing important information with parents about childhood vaccinations and the immunization schedule, while also answering questions and concerns. Other topics this spring include “Single Parenthood,” “Surviving the Trying Twos,” and “Avoiding Food Fights.”

Each seminar is led by an expert in the field of pediatrics. Parents are encouraged to be active participants, sharing experiences and asking questions.

Parenting U runs from 6 – 7 p.m. on Tuesdays through March and April. All sessions are free of charge and will be located in the Glow Auditorium at Children’s Hospital & Medical Center, 8200 Dodge St. in Omaha.

Children’s also offers Parenting U live on the Internet through video streaming.
