Did anyone see the article in Monday's paper on the Hefflinger Dog Park and how popular it's become? Lately, I have frequently thought of taking my dog Kirby over there because I know he would absolutely love it. My only reluctance has come from wondering if the people who go to the dog park all have common sense enough to realize that only polite, non-vicious dogs should be let loose in the park. My dog is almost 14 years-old (too old to defend himself from another dog), and he thinks every other dog in the world is his friend. I would just hate to put him in a situation where he'd get his snout snapped off. Also, if I went, I'd be taking my six-year-old son, too, so I'd have the same safety concerns for him.
Does anyone have any experience with going to the dog parks? Is common sense being used out there? I know I'm a big worry-wart, but I think we'd all agree that there's a huge common sense deficit in the world right now.
