Love Chinese Food - What's the Best in Omaha?

I really really miss the old Impereal Palace that was in Old Mill. They sold it, the new owner changed the name and the menu, and then the place went out of business. I haven't found a good replacement yet. Does anyone here have a favorite in town?

I love Chinese food too, and I can highly recommend a couple of restaurants for you.

China Buffet Mongolian Grill - Fantastic place! They have a full Chinese buffet and Mongolian Grill, and they're very reasonably priced for both lunch and dinner. If you prefer not to order the buffet they also have a menu and you can order ala carte. They also offer take-out. Kids under 10 eat free every Tuesday (limit one child per adult), and kids under 4 eat free every day. They also offer a 10% Senior Citizen discount (just tell your server). I love their Green Beans in House Sauce (it's on the buffet), so be sure to try them if you go. Here's a link to their website:

Jade Garden - Another great place, and also very reasonably priced. They have a regular menu, and offer a daily Lunch Special too. You can dine-in or order take-out. I've been eating here for years (used to work across the street from them) and it's all good, but my favorite here is their Sweet & Sour Soup. Wow I hadn't seen Mongolian grill. I didn;t know these local restuarants had websites either. Thanks for the tip - I'll give it a try. The discounts for kids are great too. Maybe some restuarants shoudl post there discounts on this site so they reach moms who really need them.

Impereal Palace still has that express place at westroads food court but i still miss the nice sitdown place in Old Mill. i think the building is still there. Wonder if anyone has thought of opening it again? does anyone know? Maybe the expressway hurts the location.

I have also enjoyed the China Buffet/Mongolian Grill! I used to like the Lemon Chicken at the Jade Garden, but I haven't been there in a few years.

My favorite Thai place is Mai Tai at 144th and Center.
