I've thought of selling some stuff on ebay that I have lying around but I really havent done it before and not sure how much trouble it would be. I see that there are some places that will sell things for you on ebay. Has anybody here tried it? Does it cost a lot?

Hi kgreen,
I've never tried one of the eBay-sell-it-for-you shops, but I would just call around and get some info first, especially regarding fees or what percentage of the profit they would take.
I've never sold on eBay before either. I'm the same as you...I've thought about it, but in the end I just figured it was too much trouble for me. I was looking to sell my used DVDs, and ended up selling the majority of them to Homers Records. So if you have DVDs or CDs you might want to consider that option. If you have clothing and accessories, you might want to consider a local consignment shop.
Another option would be to list on boards. You can post for free right here in "The Classifieds" forum. You can also post on Craigslist.org. Here's the link for the Omaha/Council Bluffs area:

If you decide to give selling on eBay a try they are running "Seller Special" right now where you can save 33% off listing fees through November 5th. Here's a link to the details:

Hope this helps!:)

Wow, thanks for the help. Maybe I'll try that seller special as an experiment. I imagine these d-i-y places charge a percent on top of the ebay charges so its probably expenseive.
