Where to Recycle Rechargeable Batteries?

I know we're not supposed to put cell-phone batteries and other rechargeables in the regular trash but does any one know a place to take these things? I hate just keeping them in a drawer. Some places offer to recycle once in a while but I always seem to miss the time.

I know a place. Lowes near the Furniture mart on Dodge St has a bin near the exit where u can put old recharegeable batteries in the bags they have and drop them in. I wonder if walmart will do this kinda thing too so that people think of them as being good on the environment.
