There's way too much salt in so much food we buy at the grocery. Has anyone seena good cookbook with lower salt recipes? Or how about a grocery store that stocks a lot of lower salt items?

I've been trying to watch my sodium too. It's hard because there's so much hidden sodium in foods nowadays. You really have to read the labels. A lot of the canned soups have lower sodium varieties. I've only tried the low-sodium Campbell's Tomato Soup, and I didn't care for it. But with colder weather coming up I'm sure I'll try some others.
One thing I did find was low-sodium deli turkey, and it's delicious! The Bag N Save deli (108th & Maple Sts) carries "Lifestyle" low-sodium turkey. They have several varieties, but I always get the pan-roasted turkey, and it's really, really tasty. Try it (I'm sure they'd give you a sample to taste), you'll like it!

That sounds good. Does that Bag N Save have a lot of other low salt items? Soups are terrible for salt, most of the time. People just don't realize how dangerous salt is for them. Food companies don't want to advertise that their products are low salt because cstomers will think the products won't taste good. There are so many spices that can flavr food, I mean, why think salt is something you have to have for taste? It's ridiculous, this stuff can raise your blood pressure and kill u.

No, Bag N Save doesn't carry any more low-salt items than most grocery stores.
I forgot to mention Mrs. Dash. Besides their seasoning blends, they also have 10-minute Marinades, which are really tasty (and some varieties you can even use as salad dressing). Here's a link to their website:

That's great. I didn't know Mrs. Dash made marinades. I will look for those. I wish I could find something that was a good substitute for Teriyaki or soy sauce - both of those have so much salt in them they might as well have a skull and crossbones on them.

Yeah, even the so-called "low-salt" Teriyaki or Soy sauce is loaded with sodium. However, one of the new Mrs. Dash marinades is "Spicy Teriyaki"! I haven't tried it yet, so I have no idea if it's any good. But it's worth a try.
I would love to find low-salt pickles...any ideas?
