The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act has allocated an estimated $1.6 million to administer the Omaha metro area's Summer Youth Program. It will be coordinated by Goodwill Industries.
The program will place eligible young people, ages 16 to 24, in temporary, paid summer employment positions for 10 to 15 weeks starting June 1. The youths will receive job readiness training and employment training, and will also participate in a career workshop.
Goodwill will host information and enrollment sessions Saturday, May 2, and May 9 at North High School, 4410 N. 36th St. Each session will begin at 10 a.m.
