Everyone has heard by now that Mister C's is closing after decades of being one of the favorite restaurants in Omaha. To say there was nothing like it in town is an understatement.
The property has been sold and the restaurant is going to be torn down. Everything inside and outside the place is going to be sold at auction. Collectibles and Memorabilia Garden items are to be auctioned Saturday, October 6th starting at 10 in the morning and Restaurant equipment will be sold on the 10th at 10 am.
The first auction is going to be the most fun, I think. (OK, sad and fun.) The auction company has a website that lists what seems to be hundreds of items and you can place a bid for these online or show up in person at the restaurant (5319 N 30th) to bid on a lot of other stuff not available online. I looked through several pages of the catalog and they have figurines, paintings, photos, tables, Elvis collectibles like you wouldn't believe, ceramics, a lighted sign for the Ladies room, and my personal favorite - all those Aksarben Grand Champion Steer photos. (I can't stand the thought of those going to someone else - just kidding.)
Anyway, the site below will take you to the information page for the Mister C auction. Click on the "Simulcast Catalog" link and then find the Mister C auction from the page with all the auctions listed. This will take you to the photos and descriptions of what's to be auctioned. Oh yeah, at the top of the page, be sure to click "Images - Large" to get a good sized photo of each item.
