Meetups?

I've seen the Meetups.com website. Haas anyone had a positive experience with that?

I was a member of a group that ended, i wasn't that involved but there were nasty words exchanged when the group ended between several different parties.

I am in one group currently and I enjoy it. It is hard for me to make it to many of the meetups due to locations, school, work etc.

Unfortunately, it can be quite difficult to find a moms' group that is welcoming and that offers events and activities that are accessible. This is why I posted my question about whether or not any moms have had experience with MeetUp.com. I know a mom who recently signed up for a moms' group through MeetUp.com, and she promised me that she would write about her experience after she has had time to attend a few more of the scheduled events.

On this same subject, I have a lot of moms ask me how they can find or even start a play group. For those of you who are either in a play group currently or who've been in one in the past, would you please write and let people know how you either found or started a play group? And if you know of any written resources for starting a play group, would you please be so kind as to let us know what you used? Thanks so much!

A Friend and I just started a new meetup for Northwest Omaha. We are hoping to make it fun and inviting and hopefully lots of people will join. You are welcome to come!

Hey I was just looking at that group. It sounds very inviting and I was wondering can a person be a part of 2 meetups? I just joined the Moms and Tots and have not met to many ladies yet. I think it's always good to keep options open and I like the fact that this group is new. I really like the fact that you talk about having quality friendships etc. I'm just looking to meet other moms and have fun with the kids. i may check into this!

I organize The Northwest Omaha Playgroup on meetup.com and i am also a member of another group. Im proud to say that my group had over 40 members and counting. we have a great time getting to know new people and hanging out and playing with our kids.
