My daughter LOVES orange. This hurts my eyes, but she enjoys it.

Hi, Bethany.

Thanks for sharing the photo! I like her room, too.

We are moving soon, and my 5-year-old son kept telling me that he wanted his new room to be black. I don't think he has any goth leanings just yet; I'm thinking the preference for black has more to do with his love of Batman and Spider-Man (the Spider-Man III version that he's seen in stores). Anyway, I couldn't quite embrace the dark side, so I told him he'd have to make do with a black ceiling fan and putting superhero posters on his khaki-colored walls.

I hope your posting will encourage others to send in photos of their kids' rooms. It's fun to see what other people are doing and to get ideas that you can adapt to your own home.

I had to leave my favorite kid’s room behind when we moved. This is my little one's room. I am still working on a theme for his new room; thinking vintage airplanes.

You can’t see it in the picture but on the bottom there are frogs on lily pads.

Don’t feel bad about the orange. . . my oldest son had a whole room with that color. When ever he had his blinds shut and his light on his room would glow outside!

Momof2boys - I really like that room - did you do the paintings of the cattails and frogs yourself? I love them! The room has a very tranquil feel to it. I love the curtains as well! Very creative and well-done.

My inspiration was from an episode of Room By Room on HGTV. http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/dc_design_themes/article/0,1793,HGTV_3383_1386115,00.html
This was aired several years ago. The top half was sponged painted with 2 different colors and the cattails were stamped from homemade stamps, same for the frogs and lily pads. It sounds hard but it was quite easy and took very little artistic ability. I am glad to hear you like it. Like I said, it was my favorite room. I just hope the new owners didn't paint over it :(.
